Diane Poitras

Me. DIANE POITRAS est membre du Barreau du Québec depuis 1986 et détentrice d’un diplôme de 2e cycle en éthique appliquée. Elle a travaillé au service juridique de la Commission d’accès à l’information, pratiqué en cabinet privé, agi à titre de conseillère auprès du ministre responsable de l’application et de la révision de la Loi sur l’accès et occupé la fonction de responsable de l’accès aux documents et de la protection des renseignements personnels à la Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail. Lors de sa nomination à titre de juge administratif à la Commission d’accès à l’information en juillet 2011, Me Poitras faisait partie de la Direction des services juridiques du Tribunal administratif du Québec. Désignée vice-présidente de la Commission d’accès à l’information par l’Assemblée nationale du Québec en juin 2012, elle a été nommée présidente de la Commission le 5 décembre 2019 après en avoir assumé l’intérim durant près d’un an.

Auteure principale du Guide pratique sur l’accès et la protection de l’information, gagnant du Prix 2008 du Concours juridique de la Fondation du Barreau du Québec (catégorie « Répertoire »), Me Poitras a enseigné à l’École nationale d’administration publique et à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. L’Association sur l’accès et la protection de l’information lui a remis le prix Hommage en 2011.

Me DIANE POITRAS has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1986 and holds a graduate degree in applied ethics. She worked in the legal department of the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, practiced in private practice, acted as an advisor to the minister responsible for the application and revision of the Access and Privacy Act and held the position responsible for access to documents and the protection of personal information at the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail. When she was appointed as an administrative judge at the Commission d’accès à l’information in July 2011, Me Poitras was part of the Legal Services Department of the Administrative Tribunal of Quebec. She was appointed vice-president of the Commission d’accès à l’information by the National Assembly of Quebec in 2012 and President in 2019 after serving in the interim for a year.
Principal author of the Practical Guide on Access and Protection of Information, winner of the 2008 Legal Competition Prize of the Fondation du Barreau du Québec (“Directory” category), Me Poitras has taught at the National School of Public Administration and at the University of Quebec in Montreal. The Access and Protection of Information Association awarded her the Tribute Prize in 2011.
