The Advisor – Privacy Assessment Coordinator, will be a member of the AHS Information Access and Privacy Assessment Services team within the Information & Privacy department. The position is to be located in Calgary. The successful candidate for this position may be designated as a Senior Coordinator dependent on their experience. This position will help provide transparency to the public regarding the collection, use, disclosure and safeguards of health and/or personal information through the privacy impact assessment process. This position supports AHS data repository owners by providing expertise about the obligations for compliance with legislation in the collection, use, disclosure and protection of health and/or personal information held in their repository. Using the privacy impact assessment process, the repository owners are required to identify risks to maintaining the confidentiality of the health and/or personal information and to implement adequate risk mitigation strategies. This position will provide support and guidance to the Information & Privacy team to ensure that any inquiries are addressed and to provide support to peers in this field. From time to time, this position may also support the processing of access to information requests, following the processes in place at AHS to ensure that the organization’s disclosure obligations are met in a timely and customer-focused manner. As a member of a team within Information & Privacy, the incumbent will also have opportunities to participate in creating training content, promote privacy awareness and develop other tools to support the growth of knowledge of the organization in the areas of Privacy and Information Access.
Additional Required Qualifications: Information, Access, and Privacy Certificate (IAPP) is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications: A post-secondary Degree in Law, Information Science, Information Management, Political Science, Public/Health/Business Administration, Health Sciences or related area is preferred; however relevant work related experience will be considered.
