BLG provides its clients with strategic and legal advice on matters of information technology law and data protection, through its Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group. Under the supervision of Me Éloïse Gratton, this Practice Group is recognized as being a national leader in the field; it is also the largest group of lawyers working in this particular practice area in Québec.
Our Montréal office is looking to hire one or two associates interested in working in this exciting field of law and who would be willing to join this Practice Group, serving mainly large Canadian and American corporations. The position will interest candidates intending to devote themselves to a specialized practice in information technology and privacy law. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, mainly dealing with legal, operational and ethical issues arising in the areas of information technology, privacy protection, e-commerce, cybersecurity, social media, advertising, consumer law and anti-spam legislation. In performing his/her duties, the candidate hired will provide strategic advice to clients relating to their new projects, products, practices and technologies. The successful candidate will have a creative mind, sound business sense and a keen interest in new technologies, as well as proven communications, drafting and interpersonal skills, in both French and English. A graduate diploma would be an asset. The candidate must be a member of the Québec Bar in good standing.
