Director, Privacy, Security and Information Management
$92,700.24 – $123,200.20 annually

The Director, Privacy, Security and Information Management position is located within the BC Public Service Agency and reports to the Chief Information Officer. This position provides leadership and strategic planning for the following functions: information security services, privacy, information management and Freedom of Information coordination. In this role you approve information security and privacy services and deliverables performed by service providers. You also develop and lead the Ministry Privacy and Information Security Program, ensuring all activity conforms to corporate security policy and legislation, and meets the highest security standards for a variety of sensitive information.
We are looking for an effective communicator, with problem solving and influencing skills. Stakeholder management and ability to build strategic partnerships is key in this role. You are a seasoned leader with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and are highly skilled at project direction, and management. This position requires someone committed to teamwork and staff engagement, and the demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team. Qualifications for this role include:
• University degree or post-secondary diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or a
related discipline and minimum three (3) years of progressive experience; OR,
• An equivalent combination of education, training (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security
Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager in good standing) and minimum
seven (7) years of progressive experience.
Progressive experience, minimum must be in each of the following areas:
• Experience managing professional staff, project teams.
• Experience developing and implementing IM/IT policy and standards, programs and projects
related to security and privacy, for a large, bureaucratic, and/or decentralized organization. This
could include public sector entities, multi-provincial or multi-national corporations, etc.
• Experience conducting security and privacy audits, investigations, and/or other risk management
assessments as they relate to software applications and the protection of privacy.
• Experience managing confidential issues with tact and diplomacy.
