Senior Privacy Analyst — BC Ministry of Attorney General — Multiple Locations (Remote)

There are currently two (2) permanent positions available. This position can work up to full-time from their home in British Columbia as per the Telework Agreement. 

Senior Privacy Analyst $80,652.20 – $91,992.70 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment 

The Attorney General is responsible for legal services including sheriff and court administration, legal aid, prosecution, administrative tribunals, civil and family justice, protection and promotion of human rights, and providing legal advice to the Government. 

The Senior Privacy Analyst is responsible for planning, analyzing, developing and coordinating the sector security and privacy protection program. This role also creates policy, procedures and guidelines in response to privacy legislation, regulations and corporate policy. The Senior Privacy Analyst advises senior management and program areas in their responsibility for information security and privacy protection, ensuring that requirements and risks are understood, best practices are employed, and appropriate levels of scrutiny and subject matter expertise are brought to bear on IM/IT security and privacy protection. 

Qualifications for this role include: 

• Completion of a related university degree (Information Management, Information Technology, Public Policy or Administration, Business Administration, Law, or other related field) and minimum two (2) years *related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

*Related experience must include a minimum of two (2) years for all of the following: 

• Experience conducting privacy risk assessments from a business and technological standpoint. Experience interpreting and applying legislation relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. 

• Experience relating business requirements to privacy legislation or policies. 

• Experience conducting research and/or developing and implementing policies, processes and tools in a regulatory environment. 

• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with senior level officials/professionals and a wide range of clients and stakeholders. 

• Experience with, and knowledge of, information management and/or information technology standards, procedures, and policies.
