We currently have a great opportunity for a Chief Privacy Officer to join our team on a full-time basis.
Under the direction of the Digital Health Program Manager, you will oversee all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence of GHL’s privacy policies and procedures. These policies cover the collection, use, disclosure and privacy of personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
In this dynamic role, you will also develop and manage data sharing partnerships between various healthcare providers.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a great fit for this role if you have a post-secondary degree or diploma in health sciences, information technology or a related discipline. You will also have two to three years of experience in health services and working knowledge of electronic medical record technology and information security . Previous experience working with regional communities and/or aboriginal health services is also required.
Our ideal candidate will be an expert communicator (both written and verbal) and know how to handle confidential and sensitive information . You will also have some experience with policy development and training, and be knowledgeable of current privacy laws, federal and provincial regulations and standards. A background in compliance, legal or quality assurance is an asset. Lastly, you adapt well to change and be capable of managing various projects.
