The Health Information Privacy, Security and Legislation (HIPSL) Branch is accountable for the design, implementation, and continual advancement of the provincial information privacy and security framework (including ensuring the ministry’s compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), the E-Health Act, and other applicable health-specific legislation.
HIPSL promotes corporate accountability for the protection of information and information systems to support improved decision-making throughout the ministry and broader health sector. HIPSL provides information privacy and security leadership, expertise and advice regarding legislation, regulation, policies, industry standards, and best practices for the Ministry and the broader health sector.
The HIPSL Branch is currently looking for a Director of Privacy, Security and Compliance reporting to the Executive Director, and Chief Privacy Officer for the Ministry of Health.
This positon is responsible for managing the ministry’s compliance with the Privacy Management and Accountability Policy. Develops and implements ministry information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards to ensure a comprehensive and consistent information privacy protection environment.
