The Information & Privacy Team has a position available for Information & Privacy Assistant supporting our Privacy Intake Line. The Assistants role will be answering/responding to general privacy related questions in accordance with the established departmental protocols. This includes entering these calls into our SharePoint system and where outlined, assign out to Coordinators as per the Intake Rotation. The Assistant must have a basic understanding of the collection, use and disclosure of personal & health information and be knowledgeable of privacy, confidentiality and health care in Alberta. The Assistant will also be responsible for coordinating team meetings, minutes, time of requests, statistical data and other office administrative duties to support the Director and the team. The Assistant must be willing and flexible to learn new processes in an ever changing office environment.
All Management and Out Of Scope positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.
The successful candidate must have 5 years health care experience and possess a medical office assistant diploma or equivalent. This is a high paced team that is supported provincially so if you are used to working in a high pressure environment, have strong computer skills, are familiar with Alberta Health Services and have a good understanding of Alberta’s Privacy Legislation you will do well with our team. The candidate must be in Medicine Hat however, the team they support are all over Alberta.
