The Information Management Branch is seeking a self-motivated, analytical individual to fill the role of Manager, Records and Access Management. This position will be the ministry lead for the development and implementation of Records Management and Access and Privacy programs. You will have a critical role in the development and implementation of policies, programs and processes within the ministry that support the compliance of legislation such as The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP) and The Archives and Public Records Management Act. As the Manager, you will bring a ministry wide perspective when collaborating and providing advice to managers (including Executive) regarding both records management and responses to requests for information through FOIP and will be responsible to conduct investigations when required.
The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of Records and Information Management principles and standards, Freedom of Information policy, Privacy principles, planning, research, and project management. Your skills in communications, research and analysis, and issues management will help inform and represent ministry programs, and assess the potential impacts of key decisions on public interest/concerns and be critical to the success of this position. Typically, the competencies for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree or a post-graduate degree in a related discipline such as library sciences, archival science, and/or computer science supplemented with previous experience managing and supervising staff.
