Reporting to the Manager, Privacy Program, the Program Coordinator (PAO 1-2) is part of a dynamic and complex team of information access and privacy professionals who will be required to contribute to the smooth operations in an integrated and fast paced environment. The individual is one of two positions that support the access and privacy programs of government.
This position is the primary entry point to the program and contact to client departments. They will ensure that timelines assigned to specific projects, or to team members’ projects are met. The incumbent will participate in the development of the technical tool to support work related projects and will be the database administrator once it is implemented; they will be responsible for the maintenance of the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data, producing reports for analysis and statistical purposes and following up with client departments on outstanding items. As the primary point of entry, the individual will be responsible for responding to client questions or public inquiries, integral to this is the responsibility for monitoring and administering the main e-mail account of the IAP Services unit.
This position must regularly undertake research on emerging policies, processes, or trends in the field of privacy or access to information, new developments in technology or recent court decisions that affect privacy, and prepare summaries or analysis for consideration by management.
Bachelor’s degree and one year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- maintain meticulous control of the electronic system that support operations;
- current research techniques and can do data analysis and write reports;

- confidentiality and strong focus on client service.
Knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and other access and privacy legislation would be an asset.
