If you have the following winning profile, we want to hear from you:
You have several years’ experience as an access and privacy professional within a government ministry or other large institution. You are an independent learner, with an affinity for interpreting and applying relevant legislation, case law, directives and policies, tenacity in seeking out solutions to complex issues, and consistently excellent judgement. You have proven yourself in at least one of the following two areas (preferably both):
- In one or more institutional privacy management programs, you have employed a privacy by design approach to develop a significant body of effective solutions (privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, policies, tools, training programs, breach responses, etc.) that support both legislated requirements and program goals.
- You have a solid track record in handling significant caseloads of complex and contentious freedom of information requests from intake through appeal, while maintaining an extremely low level of error, excellent compliance rates, and positive outcomes.
You are comfortable with technology concepts and tools. You keep abreast of prevailing trends in IT systems and services, and are able to effectively articulate and assess how these developments are shaping institutional access and privacy. When using desktop applications, you seize opportunities to learn and use their advanced features to support program effectiveness and efficiency.
You are a skilled communicator and collaborator who builds strong, positive relationships. You provide expert guidance to project teams, and have the skill and will to educate and positively influence people at all levels on access and privacy matters. You seek out and learn from a wide variety of perspectives, assess competing viewpoints, and generate and share your own constructive ideas to develop solid solutions for the organization. You understand the potential for public attention associated with access and privacy programs, and are very comfortable with the issues management process.
From small tasks to large projects, you tackle your work with professionalism, energy and a positive attitude. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace change, and use well-developed strategies to prioritize competing projects. You demonstrate accountability by consistently meeting delivery deadlines and communicating expectations to others.
