This posting is to fill a term/anticipatory permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. Temporary assignments and underfill hires may be considered.

This opportunity…

The Access and Privacy Analyst position reports to the Director, Corporate Information Management. The CIM (Corporate Information Management) unit provides leadership in the management, storage and protection of the government’s information assets. It includes the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy office, which facilitates public access to government records and provides privacy expertise. In an increasingly digital world, the protection of privacy has become headline news and the Access and Privacy Analyst will play a significant role in the innovative advancement of personal information protection while maintaining public transparency in government. The position is integral to an adaptive privacy management program, providing advice on legislative and regulatory interpretations and collaborating with stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):

  • Completion of post-secondary education from an accredited university
  • Experience interpreting Canadian access and privacy legislation
  • Experience researching and analyzing legislation, policies, or case law
  • Experience implementing protocols, policies or procedures
  • Experience responding to access to information requests

If your resume shows education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above, your application may be equally considered.

  • Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, using a consultative approach when working with team members and other technical experts
  • Strong ability to prioritize work and manage deadlines
