Professor, Canada Research Chair (Tier 1), Founder & Director of YLRL

KATE TILLECZEK holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Youth, Education & Global Good at York University and is the Director of the Young Lives Research Laboratory (YLRL).  The YLRL provides research alongside young people with a push to change policy and practice as we better understand how youth navigate current challenges (such as ecological degradation, digital technology) that challenge their wellbeing. She is currently leading a Partnership for Youth and Planetary Wellbeing to investigate emerging social, ecological, and digital challenges for youth on our digital warming world. Working across nine countries in the Americas, her research garners deeper understanding about how these intersecting challenges matter to the wellbeing of young people. She works with large intersectoral and intergenerational groups to re-design better educational spaces alongside young people. Professor Tilleczek is author and editor of over 80 publications on which she collaborates with her team members, colleagues, youth and students.
