Code of Ethics

The Privacy & Access Council of Canada fosters the highest standards in professional conduct across Canada’s access-to-information, protection of privacy, and data protection industry.

The PACC Statement of Ethical Principles and Professional Conduct outlines the key tenets that PACC members voluntarily agree and commit to abide by, both in their behavior and decision-making.

The  Statement of Ethical Principles and Professional Conduct embodies a code of conduct and provides a set of standards that set out the minimum level of acceptable professional conduct, and represents the commitment made by each member in support of the mission and objectives of the Privacy and Access Council of Canada.

The Code is intended to provide the public, PACC members and their employers and clients with a standard against which PACC members’ conduct may be assessed and addressed.
