The Privacy and Access Council of Canada

The voice for privacy and access

You are here: Home / About / Code of Ethics

Code of Ethics

The Privacy & Access Council of Canada fosters the highest standards in professional conduct across the access-to-information, protection of privacy, and data protection industry.

The PACC Statement of Ethical Principles and Professional Conduct outlines the key tenets that PACC members voluntarily commit to abide by.

Taken together, the Core Competency and Professional Standards, the Common Body of Knowledge for Information Privacy and Access to Information, and the Statement of Ethical Principles and Professional Conduct provide a comprehensive description of the generally accepted levels of knowledge, skills, ethical standards and conduct that define the profession. They also provide the public, PACC members, their employers and clients with a standard against which PACC members’ conduct may be assessed and addressed.
