Privacy Matters to Firearms Owners

Reducing violent crimes involving firearms is a laudable goal, and the RCMP’s new national criminal intelligence service system that will include firearms intelligence — and be used by all police services across the country — will help.

Regulating the internet will let authorities looking for criminal activity peer into end-to-end encrypted discussions about legal products, lawful private purchases, and sanctioned shooting competitions in their quest to develop firearms intelligence.

Knowing who is buying and selling which items will also support the ongoing efforts of the government and anti-gun lobbyists determined to have all firearms banned.
