| The Right to Know Declaration enumerates the core principles of the right of access to information, and calls on governments, inter-governmental organizations, information commissioners, and civil society organizations to act to strengthen access to information laws and to increase transparency in practice. The Declaration sets out an action agenda for defence and promotion of the right of access to information, and will serve as an action agenda for the right to information community for 2022 and beyond. The Declaration was developed with panelists participating in the celebration of the UNESCO International Day for Universal Access to Information held on 28 and 29 September 2021, with input from civil society and inter-governmental organizations. The Declaration open for endorsement by civil society organizations, IGOs, governments, information commissioners, academics and other individuals, and will serve as an action agenda for the right to information community for 2022 and beyond.
