On February 14, 2024, PACC Member R. Kyle Friesen O.O.M. will attende Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Ontario, to be invested into the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. His appointment is particularly notable since it is rare for a civilian to be appointed, and even more rare to move directly to the Officer level.
The investiture ceremony, presided over by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, recognizes 1 Commander (C.O.M.), 16 Officers (O.O.M.) and 80 Members (M.O.M.).
The Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces recognizes outstanding meritorious service in duties of responsibility over an extended period, usually at the regional or provincial level.
